Animal Assistant

A Mount Gambier Business is seeking Animal Attendant. Position will commence   casual couple days per week for 12-month terms with the opportunity ongoing employment to part time or full-time conditions apply.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Assisting with the daily care and supervision of animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercise routines
• Monitoring the health and behaviour of animals and reporting any concerns to the supervisor or manager.
• Maintaining a clean and safe environment for the animals, including cleaning kennels, play areas, and other facilities
• Participating in staff training and development programs to continuously improve your skills and knowledge
• Adhering to all relevant health, safety, and animal welfare regulations and protocols

 Skills and Abilities:

• A passion for animal care and a genuine love of working with pets
• Excellent attention to detail, cleanliness and the ability to follow strict procedures and protocols
• Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact with pet owners in a friendly and professional manner
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and public holidays
• Previous experience in an animal care or veterinary setting is highly desirable, but not essential
• Some kennel or animal care experience is preferred for this position
• Basic pet ownership knowledge and understanding of dog behaviour and safe handling practices is required
