Cafe Assistant

A Mount Gambier business is seeking a Café Assistant to join the team. Position is Casual working to a 7-day roster working early morning or Midafternoon shifts. Position is Casual as a guide 3 to 5 hours per shift.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities:                

• Ensure a consistently high standard of service is provided to all customers
• Food preparation, light meals and making coffee
• Processing orders accurately and in a timely manner
• Serving customers and assisting with the running of the Café as needed
• Contribute to the effectiveness of the whole team by working in a co-operative way
• Ensure that safety WHS, health, hygiene and cleanness standards are maintained
• Cash handling and reconciliation
• Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen and café areas

Skills and Abilities:

• Previous café’s experience preferred
• Previous barista experience desirable
• Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
• Back of house service experience
• Passionate about providing exceptional customer service
• Works well as part of a team, with the ability to also work with limited supervision
• Possess a keen eye for detail, with exceptional presentation skills
