Job Search - Position Vacant - Cook

An Aged Care Service in Mount Gambier is seeking a Cook. Position is 6-7 days per fortnight working split shift 8.00am to 1.00pm / 4.00 to 6.00pm.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities:                          

• Preparation and cooking of meals for residents that meet their varied and critically important dietary requirements and preferences.
• Ensure timely and efficient service during mealtimes, providing excellent customer service to residents.
• Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment, adhering to safe food handling practices and HACCP guidelines.
• Work collaboratively with kitchen team to ensure a smooth food preparation and service operation.
• Ensure you are well versed in the current Work Health and Safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for all staff.

Skills and Abilities:

• Competency in food preparation, plating, and serving, with a focus on delivering high-quality meals.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, that demonstrate emotional intelligence and the ability to connect and demonstrate empathy with the Residents.
• Flexibility to support the team and backfill leave absences.
• Up to date with all food safety requirements.
• DCSI Clearance Certificate for vulnerable people
