Leading Hand

 A Mount Gamier Agriculture business seeking a Leading hand    for a minimum of a 6-month placement.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities:                

• Assist with the Production Team to coordinate and manage the day-to-day activities
• Set up production fields
• Perform routine field induction for casual labour
• Coordinate activities in the paddock, including resupply, and logistics between properties.
• Operate farm machinery for various tasks, including but not limited to spraying, paddock preparation, planting, spreading, cartage, and harvest.
• mentor and overseeing of casual workers, emphasizing safety, timeliness, and quality.
• Meeting work health and safety requirements and following processes

Skills and Abilities:

• Previous experience as leading hand is desirable
• A willingness to learn, adopt new practices, and further develop personal skills while working in a team environment
• Your skill to mentor and coach others is one of your strengths.
• You have excellent communication skills and can work closely with agronomists and contractors and casual workers.
• You must be physically fit
• Hold a current drivers’ licence and hold First Aid certificate
• Carry out your work as directed in a safe and sensible manner
• Be flexible and available to work hours and overtime which may vary to meet operational demands
