Retail Bakery Assistant

A business in Mount Gambier seeking a Fulltime Retail Bakery Assistant.

       Job Tasks and Responsibilities:                

• • Serving customers with a friendly and professional manner, taking orders and processing payments
  • Handling and displaying fresh bakery products in an appealing and hygienic manner
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the retail space, including shelves, counters and display areas
  • Assisting with stock rotation and inventory management
  • Operating the till system accurately and handling cash transactions
  • Supporting the preparation of bakery items for sale, including packaging and labelling
  • Responding to customer enquiries and providing product information
  • Following food safety and hygiene standards at all times
  • Contributing to a positive team environment and supporting colleagues during busy periods

       Skills and Abilities:

• • Previous retail or customer service experience is preferred, though we welcome applications from those new to the industry with a willingness to learn
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact positively with customers
  • A friendly, approachable demeanour and genuine passion for customer service
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, particularly during peak trading hours
  • Physical capability to stand for extended periods and handle products safely
  • Reliable and punctual with a professional attitude
  • Basic numeracy skills for till operations and cash handling
  • Food safety awareness and commitment to maintaining hygiene standards
