Shop Assistant

A business in Mount Gambier seeking a Shop Assistant to work within a Bakery.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities:                

• Greeting and assisting customers at the bakery counter, providing recommendations and processing sales transactions
• Maintaining the bakery display, restocking products and ensuring an inviting, clean and organized retail space
• Providing excellent customer service and creating a positive experience for all customers
• Assisting with food preparation tasks as required, such as packaging baked goods
• Following all food safety and hygiene procedures to ensure the highest standards are upheld
• Supporting the bakery team with other duties as needed to contribute to the overall success of the business

 Skills and Abilities:

• Previous experience in a customer service or retail role, ideally within the food or hospitality industry
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and helpful demeanour.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently and accurately
• Adaptability and the willingness to take on a variety of tasks as required
• A genuine passion for delivering outstanding customer service
• The ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and public holidays
